January 2015

Haha well the time is almost up and I thought "probably should email my family at least"

This week was crazy beacuse we had to go to the port and have a meeting, we went on divisions with some of the other sisters in the zone, and we had zone class and lots of things. Crazy things that make us tired. But I am doing well. Nothing like a day of preparation to help me get back to normal.

So when we were in zone class, an Elder from the zone area that is next to ours came up to us and started apologizing because he had accidently gone into our area and started teaching someone there. They are pretty much ready for baptism, and we are super excited! Her name is Reina. Her daughters are also interested, and her grandkids. It is pretty much a miracle.

My companion is seriously great and I am learning so much from her. She is super weird just like me, we make everything really fun. She is super great and I am very happy to be with her. We are learning lots and working hard. Even though it makes me tired sometimes, I love the work!

We are sturuggling a little bit to work with the members, but we are working with that. We are super trying to make sure everyone is very strong and ready when they get baptized.
Still have not got your package mom, I am sure it is on the way!

Love you!

Welp, this is gonna be little.

We are working hard with a reference that we got so that she can be baptized, she already is ready, but oposition comes like crazy. No worries, all will be well. She has so much faith.

I have been learning so much here in the mission. I think that something we sometimes do as missionaries is like divide up the gospel into some kind of sections or something, and it can seem really choppy. But I learned from good ol´ "Preach my Gospel" this morning that it really all is one message: that the fulness of the gospel, Gods Plan of Salvation, has been restored here upon the earth through a prophet, and if we follow it, by keeping the commandments and performing the ordenances, and thanks to a loving Savior, we will return to live with God.
I know this is way short, but I love you all lots and want you to know all is well.

Hola!

This week was seriously so crazy! Reyna got baptized! She was so excited and so happy to finally be able to do it, but let me just tell you that the adversy did everything in his power to try and stop her from reaching that font. Let me just start.

So She was supposed to get baptized last Sunday, but we had to postpone her interview that was going to be wednesday to Saturday. We dont usually like to do that, but she was going to mexico city with her daughters. She was supposed to be back by friday, so we changed her interview to saturday. Then, on Friday she called saying that the money they were supposed to recieve to buy gas to get home had not come through yet, and they had no idea when they would get home. We were sad, but confident that she would be baptized. We have seen her conviction and desire, as well as her knowledge grow. She ended up getting home on Sunday night. We changed her baptism date to that Saturday.

Wednesday was her baptismal interview, and she did really well. Our district leader told us that she was  one of the chosen. Saturday came and it was time for her baptism and we recieved a message that she was going to be late because the other grandma to her grandkid just showed up, and some legal stuff was happening. We waited so long! she called us and told us 1 more hour after we had waited 2. My companion must have sounded pretty sad beacuse she called us 2 minutes later saying she was on her way! She told us when she showed up that the other lady was talking to her and she stopped her and said "we cant do this right now, because I have to go get baptized. You can come with me if you want, but I have to go" The lady came! It was late, and the members had left to eat, but she got her baptism!

It was a crazy week, but Gods power is stronger. Love you all!

Well, I am not even sure what to say about this week. It was very strange. I learned lots and grew lots and I am not going to write all of the world, just those who are close.
Today we came out here to a members house- a girl who is 19 yrs old named Mago! She is so great, always is super willing to go visit people with us, and today she wanted to us to come over here and eat with her. Her mom made us luch and then we just got done making donuts, it was fun. P-days are way fun.
I have been learning a lot about the commandments and all that they really should mean for us. God really doesn't limit us, he shows us how we can really reach our full potential. Every commandment has a purpose. They all have their individual blessings as well. I really love especially that fasting is a window so that we can recieve revelation, forgivness, comfort, and feel our relationship with God growing. I am excited to fast with more purpose this sunday when it rolls around again.
I have really seen a lot of things here in the mission that I have never known before, well, I have never seen them face to face and how the gospel really changes everything. Don´t know if you all remember Ivan, who I was teaching in Nogales. The one that had cancer in his liver who came to church every week, who I taught when he was laying on his couch and saw him improve drastically to the point that he was driving his car and everything. I found out that he got baptized! Little things that make you happy!
I love to learn about Christ and how He lived. I have been reading the Liahona (its like the ensign) and there is an article about how christ taught. Somthing so important is that He lived what he taught. That is why he was such a good teacher. He did all that he taught.
Well, super short, but love you all
