This letter isn't going to be as long, I can tell you right now. Just know, I am doing AMAZING and this week was much better than last week:)
Remember my "carry on" story? well, in sundays devotional, we sang that as one of the preludes. God knows us:) On Tuesday I sang with the Choir again, and we sang "Be still my soul". That song is amazing, and it really helps me reassure myself that the Lord is on my side. because those are the lyrics. yeah I don't know how to make that sound more spiritual, but it was and I LOVED it.
I have some amazing things that I have learned this week:
Jessica and Sister Shingleton |
1. "preach my gospel" is really good at helping you learn. It says something that I had never thought about prayer, that praying with real intent means that you are praying with the willingness to act upon the answer that God gives you. Helps me to gain a new perspective.
2. Liken the scriptures unto your life: DyC 121: 7-8 if you endure the MTC food, you will be blessed later with amazing mexican food:) (but if you complain about the MTC food all the time, you will probably get super sick in the field) But really, the food isn't bad.
3. God knows us personally. I know from experience.
My teachers here are soooooo fantastic. I love them. My home room teacher, Hermano Noltemeyer, is the greatest teacher and the perfect amount of serious and funny and interesting that makes me want to learn. God REALLY knows us. Yesterday, Hermano Noltemeyer told us some hilarious stories including about waiting forever for a lock smith, which I can totally relate to :) He always talks in Spanish and I didn't realize how funny he was until I started to understand him (obviously).
This is Jessica's district. From front to back it is Jessica, Elder Goodman, Hermana Ledek, Hermana Terry, Elder Brown, Elder Robertson, and Hermana Shingleton in the very back. |
We are teaching 2 investigators (they are acting) Banina (not banana) and Jose. It is very hard, because solamente espanol, but we are doing good. My comp and I are getting along a lot better thanks to comp inventory and sister training leaders.
Sorry this letter probably comes across a little crazy IT IS A WELL NEEDED P DAY. This week was awesome and I love you all.
Here are my districts plague scriptures[Jessica's mom says that she has been immunized against this plague] , they are all amazing:
Moroni 7:48 (mine)
2 Nephi 4:17-35... that isn't actually his plaque scripture, it is his favorite one. His plaque one isn't his favorite.
LOVE YOU GUYS-
Hermana Jensen
