This week has been a challenge! I found out early this week that I had an infection in my foot, so I had to go to the doctor. He gave me an antibiotic and all was well, but I had a pretty swollen hurting foot for a couple days. It is probably because I made fun of Elder Bradleys ankle last week.
Just so you know, the gift of tongues is really hard to get. It is taking a lot of patience and studying and pray[praying] but I am moving along! My companion is really good at the language, and that is a little intimidating sometimes, but most of the time it is really good because she helps me.
I have a little story. I was struggling really hard a couple of days ago, two people from my zone were chatting back and forth in spanish and I couldn´t understand any of it so I just started bawling. I cry a lot here, but that is good because for me it is a stress reliever. But anyways, I talked about it to another sister who has been here for a few weeks more and she told me I should pray and figure out for sure that I am on the right track, just to get the confirmation to keep going. I did so, and had a prompting to open my hymn book. It was the carry on song. It helped me to know that God wants me to keep on going, and that he has a sense of humor because that is the song that my family has a huge inside joke about¨(and we hear the coyotes howling).
I have been singing with the MTC choir, which is AMAZING!!! we sing in ever tuesday devotional. This week we sang a really cool version of called to serve. It was the most powerfully I have ever heard that song sung. We also sang I´m trying to be like Jesus. It was so cool and I love singing.
Last sunday, Janice Kapp Perry came. She is amazing and inspiring and we sang the missionary The Sisters in Zion verses that we sang at my farewell. It was so cool to have her directing that.
Also. I love going to the temple on P'days. It´s amazing.
For all you past main campus MTC peeps, the food there is way better than here on west campus. I have eaten both.
The sisters in my zone are FANTASTIC. Each one of them I already feel like I am way close to even though it hasn´t been long. I will try to send pictures later. Sorry this one isn´t as long.
LOVE YOU GUYS. SEND ME LETTERS AND DEAR ELDERS PLEASE.
A dear elder is just like an email for you except I have more time to read it.
Love,
Hermana Jensen
The Sisters of Zion
The sisters of Zion are called to God’s labor
We willingly serve Him with spirit and might
We go to the nations with truth everlasting
We teach of the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ
We willingly serve Him with spirit and might
We go to the nations with truth everlasting
We teach of the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ
We thank thee, O God, for a prophet to guide us
We trust in His words and our purpose is clear
The angels of heaven are walking beside us
We’ll share our glad message with all who will hear
We go forth enlisted with Helaman’s Army
In numbers much greater than ever before
With power and spirit we’ll faithfully witness
The heavens have spoken, and truth is restored
We trust in His words and our purpose is clear
The angels of heaven are walking beside us
We’ll share our glad message with all who will hear
We go forth enlisted with Helaman’s Army
In numbers much greater than ever before
With power and spirit we’ll faithfully witness
The heavens have spoken, and truth is restored
